The BCPA is a voluntary non-profiting organisation set up for the purpose of promoting parachuting and skydiving at a collegiate level.

We are associated with the British Parachute Association (BPA), who regulate all skydiving in the UK.

Every year, the BCPA co-ordinates an Inter-Uni League to allow university skydiving teams to compete against each other at a national level. The League awards points for teams that compete and win any of the organised competitions, as well as the progress the individual team members make with their own skydiving progression.

The BCPA organises at least 2 informal meets - normally Freshers and Freshers II/Valentines - during the early part of the year, 3 regional events - Northerns, Southerns, and Scots - and the National Championships each summer. Attendees and competitors at these events can earn their teams points for the League.

The BCPA are working hard with BUSA to get skydiving recognised as a sport. Many Student Unions don't recognise a sport unless BUSA does, and normally don't fund as well for those societies. Once recognised, each teams' performance in the League should help to secure better funding.

The BCPA can help new set-up new skydiving clubs and provide advice for existing clubs.

Most importantly of all - we provide a community where university skydivers of all levels can find like minded people to jump and socialise with.

BCPA members have the full range of ability, from first timers to WARP coaches, Basic Instructors, and Approved Instructors - most of whom started skydiving for the first time at university with the BCPA.
